In response the authorities did not allow the pedestrian only days until January of this year and that was put on hiatus when the March 11 earthquake happened.The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department announced on Tuesday that the tradition of zoning the main street of Tokyo's Akihabara otaku shopping district as pedestrian-only on Sundays (known as "pedestrian paradise") will resume in on Sunday, April 17.
